An answer

Autumn, Year 762 of the New Age
Aytans Glade, Glenmore
Featuring: Rosalie and Aytan
READ THIS ONE FIRST= A Proposal (this takes place before the madness and drama of Drustan and everyone leaves for Haven)

Rosie laid curled in her den, resting peacefully. The bird songs quietly intruded into her dreams, echoing through in an ethereal way. A familiar voice spoke to her, coaxing her awake. Blinking her eyes open, Aytan stood at the entrance of her den. Smiling sleepily, she reached her muzzle out to him.

“I need to show you something.” he said. A bit puzzled, Rosie stood up and ducked out of her den. Following behind him, Rosie wondered why they were up with the sun. He wasn’t on duty, he usually just gave her a quick nuzzle and good morning if he was going to be guarding and left her to sleep.

 They soon stepped into the glade that Aytan kept, and in the morning light she saw something incredible. An archway of earth and plants rose high above their head, flowers blooming along the vines and at the bases.

Mouth agape, she stood in awe of it. * Had he built it, for me?*  she thought. A gentle nudge from Aytan, she took her gaze from the creation and stepped under it, looking shyly at the flowers as she felt Aytan step beside her. Turning her head slightly, she looked back at Aytan who was now offering her a flower, a rose that smelled so sweetly of love and care. Smiling, she gently took it from him, tucking it in her braid alongside her other two.

“Rosalie… I have something to ask you.” he said quietly as she was tucking the flower away. She felt his tail twine around hers, and with a heart beat jump, her own tail responded and held onto his. “Would you be my mate?”

Gasping quietly, she looked up at him. His kind eyes looked back at her, and her heart almost leapt out of her chest. She had wondered if she’d ever feel like this again, ever be able to love anyone besides her children this much.

“Yes.” She whispered, tucking her head under and embracing him.
