Town name: Alfdís

History/Legend: The town was founded by a Nord woman, Alfdís. Having traveled from Solitude in Skyrim, with her loyal dog and small flock of sheep, she settled the area of lush grass and rich soil, weaving beautiful fabrics and rugs from her growing flock. People were drawn to her farm, and soon became part of it, working for her. The town grew and prospered, even after her death. A statue is dedicated to her, and is found in the town square. She holds her head high, hair blowing in the wind, holding a small lamb. It is said that she guards the flocks at night, wandering as a ghost through the fields, and that she won't harm the shepherds, but will terrify any trouble makers, and destroy thieves.

The town's emblem is of a gold and white ram

Town/surrounding area Description: Alfdís is a strong farming community. With a small, dense forest surrounding the town, it is generally protected from the harsh wind during winter. Lush grass feeds sheep, their main livestock, and rich soil grows strong crops (cabbage, wheat, barley, potato, carrots usually). Farms surround the village/town, though houses and barns typically being built close to the sheltering woods, with the fields stretching out from the town. Small patches of trees dot the fields, offering protection to the sheep and horses alike when they are not gathered in the barns. A statue of the towns founder is seen in the center of town.

The patches of trees and main forest bordering the town contain mostly broadleaf deciduous trees (maple, beech, ash, elm and oak), as well as wild blackberry, wild chokecherry and a few cloudberry bushes that the villagers harvest. Alchemy ingredients found in town and in the surrounding forests are Snowberries (in winter), red mountain flower, lavender (also grown in a few gardens around the houses).
