Dusty | Reminiscent

My first character, we'll see if I dream up anymore (or bring in my old Kossy ponies, oh how I miss you Dooly!)! This was just a really quick, messy picture of Dusty, since I don't have enough time to put more energy into ref's, and it's just for color/general build (he's a lanky little colt right now, he'll get his muscle soon).

Identifying markings: Large, wide blaze. His dun markings are faint. A few small scars dot his body from scuffles with other colts, but no major battle scars grace him yet.

Personality: Dusty is a foolhardy colt, wanting to take on the big studs and steal away all the mares. He has big dreams and aspirations, to make his own herd (he pictures it to be quite large), take a large territory for them to live off of, and make a new name for himself that is mysterious and instills fear in stallions and awe in mares. He loves ganging up on band stallions with his fellow bachelors,  sparring with colts (both in his bachelor band and visiting colts), and flirting with fillies and mares. Right now he's more talk than bite, having never taken on a full grown stallion in a serious fight.

History: Dusty was born to a high ranking mare in a small and low ranking band that had been pushed to the edges of the western plains and into the desert. His mother gave him the best that she could, being friends with the lead mare gave her certain benefits (as well as her being dominant herself) to getting the best forages for her and her son. Dusty inherited that dominance, pushing the few colts his age around and play fighting with the older colts. When he was young, he idolized his father and hoped to grow into a stallion just like him. But once he was older and saw how other herds treated their own and after seeing mare after mare being stolen away from him, the glamour fell away. Shortly after he turned two, he began challenging his father. In small ways at first, trying to push him away from some patch of grass, but they grew into more trouble. Before it grew too much however, his father kicked him out of the band, having to chase him farther than any colt before Dusty. Those first few nights alone shook Dusty as he wandered through the plains trying to find someone, anyone to look after him. A small bachelor band found him and took him in, and since then he's been hooked. He loved the sparring they did, the chases they did after fillies and the antagonizing they did to band stallions. He climbed the ranks until now, where he is comfortably toward the top, but not the leader (yet).
