Practice paintings grass and rock

Some practice doing colored sketches/paintings of grass and rocks. I really struggle with rocks and how to layer grass, so I did a little bit of practice here. The picture on the left is just the two separate ones put together, and I must say I like how it looks together. Also, finally broke out the tablet and actually drew since being back at college (I think, actually I don't know?)

If you have any tips or critiques, I could really use them These were also done in 5 to 10 minutes, so there wasn't that much time put into them, I mostly just wanted to get the feel of it. Also, if you know how to add detail to short grass when there is a ton of it, I would appreciate knowing your secrets!

I feel really, weird about my art right now. Like I really want to expand my style, and it keeps switching between wanting a cute style and a creepy one. So, I think I'll be doing more practice mini paintings like this while I discover what I want to do. It's really hard moving past what I already know, so it may be awhile.
